Give Yourself Permission

It’s the start of a new week and rather than focusing on the Monday Blues that so many people usually complain about, I thought I’d give you a little Monday Motivation to help jump-start your week instead.

In a recent meeting with my mentor, several topics of discussion came up but one that stood out to me in particular was giving yourself permission. Oftentimes we can be guilty of stunting our own growth both personally and professionally.

Thoughts of  ‘Am I really good enough’ or ‘I don’t think I have what it takes’ are mental roadblocks that will prevent even the best of us from doing the things we desire to do in life and have the potential to be great at. This is especially true when it comes to the topic of entrepreneurship. There’s something about being really good at something and then deciding to put a price on your abilities.

Not everyone will understand your vision and the process itself can be very tedious which is exactly why it’s even more important that you first give yourself permission to pursue your dreams. Doing so takes the personal restraints off your mind, allowing you to no longer operate from a place of doubt/fear but rather in confidence and true perseverance of your goals.

To some, this may seem minor but you’d be surprised by how much you can accomplish with such simple shift in thought process. So here’s to giving yourselves permission to move in the direction that you may be hesitant to move in.

Be Great!

  1. I haven’t gotten the hang of it yet, but I am amazed how true this is. I think we get “asking” and “demanding” confused on a subconscious level, and somehow end up talking ourselves out of asking the world for things we want, because we don’t think we have the right to demand them. Nevermind that asking is such a simple, polite thing…

It’s definitely something for me to work on. Thank you for the reminder. 🙂
