So let’s face it. The minute I signed on the dotted line to return to work, I knew my writing would suffer the most. “But why does it have to be like that,” I thought to myself as I vowed that this time around would be different.
Fast forward six weeks into it and my first mind never fails me.
Between managing a full-time work schedule, gearing up for back to school for not only myself but two kiddos in the mix as well, a few unexpected circumstances along the way, other household duties and general rest and relaxation, there just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day. For someone who’s well organized and pro-planning, that statement really irks me!
Realizing that I can’t do it all has become a major lesson for me. Therefore, I have spent the past few days evaluating how I spend my time and how I can be more effective when it comes to giving things that are of importance to me higher priority.
It’s easy to get caught up in the mindset that there’s never enough time to do the things you really want to do in life when in actuality it’s solely up to you. We are all given the same amount of time each day and knowing that some people maximize that time to the fullest while others make excuses as to why there’s never enough is added inspiration to make the most out of everyday.
It is not enough if you are busy. The question is, what are you busy about? ~Henry David Thoreau
What has worked for you when it comes to balancing work/life? How do you make the most of your time?
