RELATIONSHIPS: Too Complicated or Worth The Effort

During recent conversations with a good friend who also happens to be an eligible bachelor, he shared that he thinks relationships are just too complicated and that’s why he has been hesitant to get into one. As a hopeless romantic, it pains me to hear such viewpoints.

I realize most people these days have their own preconceived ideas when it comes to relationships because of their past experiences and it can be difficult breaking through some of those barriers. As with anything in life though, I believe it’s all about what you make it. While I’m not an advocate of just jumping in and out of relationships, I do believe that if you meet someone deserving of a chance, you shouldn’t allow your preconceived ideas to prevent you from moving forward.

Perspective is key. If you view relationships as being too complicated or too much work, they won’t be enjoyable and you’ll never grasp the full experience that they have to offer. However, if you view it as two people coming together and both individuals putting in the necessary effort to potentially build something great, the possibilities are endless. Therefore, it’s important that you always keep your mind and heart open.

Life Is Love!

  1. Relationship is a next step of a self-progress. Once you are happy with yourself you can move onto a next step – being with someone. You can’t jump ahead of time, need to be mature first.

  2. As with so many things, perspective does seem to figure prominently, doesn’t it? Which is kind of a relief, since we can actually change our perspective! It’s a beautiful idea to maintain an open heart and be willing to let opportunities grow in our lives.
