As previously mentioned in an earlier post, my blogging has been out of commission for the past few days while I played nurse to the sick and shut in.
Within that time we unfortunately had to make two trips to the ER, one of which was at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas.
We went there with high hopes of receiving a different level of care not usually received at the other local hospitals in our area but boy were we wrong!
The visit started out strong in the reception area but quickly declined once we had been given a room. We waited for three hours only to have the doctor come in, take a personal call while in the middle of our conversation then promptly tell us nothing could be done.
I don’t know about anyone else but in the rare case that I do go to the hospital, it’s usually for more than a quick pat on the back and to be sent on my merry, less than healthy way.
After such blatant neglect, we were beyond ready to go and even managed to slip out before any discharge papers had been received. On our way out, without any interruption I might add… we noticed that the staff was in the middle of a shift change so I guess that explains but did not excuse our less than satisfactory experience.
Needless to say, I don’t think I’ll be visiting Baylor again anytime soon.
